Safe + Sound Week and Resources to Protect the Health and Safety of Workers

Safe + Sound Week is observed across the United States from August 7^th through the 13^th. The annual occurrence is described by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a nationwide event meant to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in the workplace.

Occupational safety and health programs continue to be critically important and the numbers speak for themselves. OSHA reports that according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, every year more than 5,000 workers are killed on the job (a rate of 14 per day), and more than 3.6 million suffer a serious job-related injury or illness.
