Detroit Auto Show Announces More Entertainment Details for Charity Preview this September

The Detroit Auto Show today announced Grammy Award-winning reggae icon Shaggy will join Charity Preview on Friday, Sept. 15 with a special performance at 9:15 p.m. on the Atrium Stage at Detroit’s Huntington Place.  The Black-Tie Charity Preview event benefits six children’s charities in Southeast Michigan.

“Shaggy will keep the Charity Preview party going with his most beloved hits including “It Wasn’t Me,” “Angel” and “Boombastic” which have dominated the global reggae charts for decades,” said Detroit Auto Show Chairman Thad Szott. “It will be an incredibly electric night in Detroit, both with the vehicles on display and the energy going on inside Huntington Place that evening.”

Charity Preview has raised more than $100 million for children’s charities in Southeastern Michigan over the past 25 years alone. In total, the event has generated over $123 million since its inception in 1976. Beneficiaries for this year’s Charity Preview include:

  • The Children’s Foundation
