Bloomberg Announces Speaker Lineup for the Bloomberg Transition Finance Action Forum

The Transition Finance Action Forum will convene public and private sector leaders during New York Climate Week and the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly to accelerate progress ahead of COP28
Today, Bloomberg announced select speakers for the Bloomberg Transition Finance Action Forum. The Forum, to be held in the afternoon on September 19 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, will convene leaders from both the private and public sectors, uniting their efforts to acknowledge the progress achieved in the realm of transition finance while propelling further action in support of a global net-zero economic transformation.
Select speakers will include: Michael R. Bloomberg, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions and Co-Chair of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero; Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; Janet Yellen, Secretary of the U.S. Treasury; Fernando Haddad, Minister of Finance of Brazil; Mark Carney, UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance and Co-Chair of Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero; Henry A. Fernandez, Chairman and CEO of MSCI; Noel Quinn, Group Chief Executive of HSBC; and Shriti Vadera, Chair of Prudential plc and Co-Chair of the World Bank Private Sector Investment Lab.
The Bloomberg Transition Finance Action Forum will coincide with New York Climate Week and the UN General Assembly, providing a critical platform for international climate finance leaders to evaluate and chart the course for the necessary advancements that will enable the transition to net zero. Speakers will examine the progress being made within transition finance and explore what more is needed from all stakeholders to create a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient economy in the lead up to COP28 in Dubai and beyond.
The Forum will be held at 3:30pm ET, following The Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, co-hosted by the Earthshot Prize and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
