Novel On Generational Joys and Pains by Claudette H. McLennon Slated for Exhibit at Frankfurt Book Fair 2023

On the one hand, the Frankfurt Book Fair is seen as another opportunity for major publishers to come together for a series of major licensing deals and industry forecasts. But on the other, it’s also an opportunity for thousands of authors to exhibit incredible stories both fictional and real. And while Claudette McLennon’s “Sins of the Parents” is fictional, there is a certain realness to the long life it covers, and she hopes visiting readers enjoy its journey.

“The amazing thing was she didn’t try to stop the memories or was overly emotional about them. What could she do at this point anyway?”

At the Frankfurt Book Fair, also known as Frankfurter Buchmesse, countless book exhibits from various publishers will be showcasing stories across diverse genres, such as romance, drama, historical, and more.

However, Claudette H. McLennon’s “Sins of the Parents” may very well cover more than just one of these categories, given its ambitious length and almost biographical detail.

The story starts with Marlene Tulloch, an aging woman suffering from cancer and may very well be in her last moments. Through her eyes, readers can see her struggle in the midst of pain as she lies in a hospital bed with her husband by her side.

But beyond this pain, however, Marlene’s mind slowly drifts back to the memories of her life before the cancer. She thinks of her four boys, three on the path to success, while a fourth she laments for going astray.

As the chapters go on, though, older and more complex memories emerge as Tulloch continues to reflect on her life. It is here that readers can find a riveting recollection of a painful childhood. They learn of Marlene’s parents and how they struggled before passing away, leaving her in the care of a cruel grandmother.

Overall, it reads like a very in-depth biography despite being fictional. The book is Claudette’s recent attempt at writing prose after pursuing a passion for poetry and publishing her own collection. And like many authors at the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse), she hopes her switch proves an excellent read and share her work with a wider, more global audience.

Claudette H. McLennon’s “Sins of the Parents” will be displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023. The book trade fair will occur from October 18 to 22, 2023, at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Get a copy on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
