‘Madam Beja’, new soap on HBO Max, begins recording in Río de Janeiro

The unprecedented reinterpretation of the 1980s hit will feature 40 chapters and features Grazi Massafera in the protagonist role

HBO Max has started recording Madam Beja, an original national soap opera that will feature a new version of the 1980s hit. Written by Daniel Berlinsky and António Barreira and produced by Floresta, the work will have 40 chapters and will be recorded in several locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The soap opera features Grazi Massafera as the protagonist and does not yet have a scheduled release date.

MADAM BEJA is an adaptation of the work of the same name, inspired by two books about Ana Jacinta de São José, a real character. This version promises to bring a new look to history, due to changes in society’s behavior over the last few decades.
