Hollywood Writing Veteran Robert Paget Set to Exhibit New Coming-of-Age Novel at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023

When it comes to high-profile book fairs, South America has its own in the upcoming Guadalajara International Book Fair. And from around the world, the newest books by various big-name authors as well as veteran storytellers will be exhibiting. Among these authors is Robert Paget, a Hollywood writer who has worked on hit shows such as “Wild Wild West” and “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” The title of his book is “The Slow Wave,” a coming-of-age story set in the carefree beaches of sunny Florida.

“Paget exposes that character flaw that we all have, in a way, at least, I could identify with. Besides that, the story brought me into a carefree, spontaneous world that I might have liked to experience, but I also experienced, the reality the protagonist experiences in this world. An engrossing, merry go round of emotions. Entertaining and enlightening. Good read.”

Towards the last quarter of the year, major international publishers turn to the Americas and prepare to exhibit at the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL). Here, the exhibits feature just about every writer with a new novel, including Hollywood storytelling veterans like Robert Paget.

Paget has been in the Hollywood business since he was a young actor, with experience in films and television as well as his own stint on Broadway. He had studied acting with legends like Lee Strasberg and Frank Corsarro. Throughout the years, many have seen his hand in classic TV hits such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Wild Wild West. Even today, he still hard at work over at Manhattan Films.

That didn’t stop him from finishing a book, though.

Earlier this year, Paget published The Slow Wave. It tells the coming-of-age journey of a young man named Bud Turner, who finds himself pulled into the laid back culture on Florida’s beaches. Still, it’s far from a sunny tale as tragedy eventually strikes, and Bud is confronted with the most difficult decision of his life.

It’s a story that many readers have already praised for its focus on development, particularly a development of a flawed protagonist and written in contrast to the usual plots with sunny, seaside backdrops.

Visitors to the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023 can find The Slow Wave displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth GG38. The book fair is scheduled to run from November 25 to 29, 2023, at the Expo Guadalajara Convention Center, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Robert Paget’s book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
