Longtime Youth Counselor Jacqueline King Shares the Honest Words of Young Christians in Book Exhibited at Frankfurt Book Fair

Among the many books featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023, plenty of them were testimonies of faith or lives transformed by certain teachings. However, one book by professional youth counselor Jacqueline King was on a different mission.

The book “From the Mouth of Babes” is a collection of essays and reflections by the many young Christians that King ministered to in her work.

For many people, there is a certain image already set in people’s minds when they hear the words ‘youth group’ or ‘Christian youth ministry.’ Her book aims to both challenge preconceived ideas while also enhancing them.

It shows a side to various Christian youths that she has personally seen in their journey to find God. It is a side that is more human, more honest, and more willing to acknowledge the confusion of being a faithful follower in today’s world. They still reject its worldliness and pursue God’s truth, but they are also speaking more freely about the challenges they face.

Prior to publishing the book, King has worked with a number of organizations whose initiatives were to support young people. These groups include the Department of Youth Services and the Boston Ten Point Coalition. She’s also served her church as a youth minister for many years, and she has always wanted to let the world know what was in the hearts of many young people she’s met.

So, with the help of ReadersMagnet, a book marketing and self-publishing firm, she managed to secure an exhibit for “From the Mouth of Babes” during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023. The book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Author Bio

Jacqueline King was born in Antigua, West Indies. She migrated to Montserrat at an early age, where she lived for about fifteen years before moving to the United States. Jacqueline has always been an Avid reader, and it was out of her love for reading that she developed a passion for writing. While attending Grade School in the Caribbean, she was known for writing excellent compositions, which were often displayed in her classroom for other students to read. Throughout the years she has written short stories for Sunday Lessons, as well as poems; all of which she kept but never published. “From the Mouth of Babes” would be her first publication, but certainly not her last.

Jacqueline is also a wife, a mother and grandmother. She resides in Florida with her husband Cedric King. Jacqueline holds Degrees Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, and Christian Counseling. She is a life-long learner who is always seeking the next opportunity. Jacqueline has served her local church for years as Youth Minister and Mentor, she has volunteered in her community as Guardian ad Litem FL, Big Sister, Little Sister Program, Department of Youth Services, MA; Boston Ten Point Coalition, and New England Home for Little Wanderers. Jacqueline also holds certification in Crisis Management and Youth Counseling.

In her spare time, she enjoys long walks, as well as gardening. She is passionate about young people and believe that God has called her to serve in that area. She accepts the call gracefully.
