Throughout the year, large book fairs have been taking place in every continent. Around November’s end, it will be Americas’ turn with the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), in Mexico. Thousands of publishers will be coming together to not only network and discuss the future of the industry in the region but to also celebrate the different cultures, stories, and ideas being shared via countless exhibited books.
It is a particularly fitting opportunity for Alexis Haggins, a newly published author who has recently published a horror story titled “Cursed.”

“Cursed” is set in the year 1856 and follows two young girls, Elena and Sophia. The pair live in an old orphanage in Mexico, run by religious sisters.
However, darker secrets are rumored to be hidden in the orphanage’s aging walls, leading the pair to accidentally stumble upon an ancient curse. It’s a story that is sure to appeal to fans who love spine-chilling searches, ancient mysteries, and a heart-stopping race to break the hold of otherworldly powers.
