Author Da Me (Jon Sumner) Shares a Glorious Journey of St. Thomas Church
“St. Thomas Church” is an inspiring religious journey of a Pastor in his beloved church. It is a combination of fiction and non-fiction piece that tells various stories and settings are completely made up yet the message of these parables apply to all of us at one point or another.
The story follows Pastor Steve Palmer and his church in the small Northwest, Michigan town of Hartlin. They face many of the same challenges that we all do to become the people God has called them and us to become. This Novel can best be called a pre-church growth book. It does not offer strategies to grow your church but is meant to be used as a mirror in personal devotions and as a small group study to ask where am I or we in relationship to where we ought to be. Moreover, this book does not promote an anything-goes mentality but instead promotes being God’s hands, feet, and mouth to the world outside our doors not just on Sunday but every second of every day, of every moment.
This wonderful book consists of telling several short stories and then asking questions that are meant to promote discussion and hopefully action (and if needed, change). Now, go forth and change your world!
