TOYOTA GAZOO Racing released its new Brand movie “WILD MOMENT”
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) releases its new brand movie titled “WILD MOMENT” on the TGR YouTube channel from Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The origins of the sports car series “GR” that launched in 2017 can be traced back to Team GAZOO, which was launched in 2007 by Toyota master driver Hiromu Naruse and then-vice president (current Chairman of the Board of Directors) Akio Toyoda. With the philosophy of developing people and vehicles through motorsports to make ever-better cars, the team took on the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, the toughest of all endurance races, and completed the race. Then, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, established in 2015, continues its pursuit of “Making Ever-better Motorsports-bred Cars” by applying the knowledge gained and feedback from drivers through participation in various motorsports including the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Dakar Rally, to the development of its production vehicles.
This movie takes on the challenge of expressing the GR philosophy through visuals based on Chairman Toyoda’s strong wish to further accelerate and carry on the essence of the GR brand: “Making Ever-better Motorsports-bred Cars.” Four motorsports vehicles – the GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID that raced in the WRC1, the GR010 HYBRID that took on the WEC2, the GR DKR Hilux T1+ that raced in the Dakar Rally3, and the GR Supra that ran the 24 Hours of Nürburgring endurance race4 – are captured in “wild” form as they are driven by professional drivers in extreme environments to show off their captivating dynamism, and filmed in super-slow motion from as close as possible, as if filming wild animals.
For the shoot, driving duties were handled by TGR professional drivers Takamoto Katsuta (whose camera car was driven by Norihiko Katsuta), Kamui Kobayashi, Masahiro Sasaki, and Giniel de Villiers. An additional video titled “WILD MOMENT – BEHIND THE SCENES” that gives a look at the drivers’ heroics not seen in the movie is also released on the TGR YouTube channel.
