June Reynolds Shares Cultural Yarns of Arizona Desert Life in Book Exhibit at Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023

The Guadalajara International Book Fair doesn’t merely bring together the works of authors across the Americas. Alongside them are book exhibits telling stories from neighboring and distant parts of the region. Presenting her own little desert corner of Arizona is author June Reynolds, who had her book exhibited at the event. Titled Desert Report, it’s the third book in her dedicated series featuring poems, prose, and historical accounts of life in the Southwestern United States.

“Reynolds… is skilled at projecting a sense of place and the mystique of the old West, and for this reason, Desert Report may appeal to tourists and collectors of Arizona memorabilia, if not to general readers.” – BlueInk Review

While many regard the Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), as a large gathering of major publishers in the Americas, the book fair is also a highly cultural event. A part of that comes from the wide range of books from overseas, each one offering a perspective on life in another part of the world.

In the case of June Reynolds, it’s the life and times of desert towns in Arizona and many parts of the American Southwest. It’s all told in her book “Desert Report,” a collection of poems, short stories, and contemporary historical accounts. The book was exhibited with the support of ReadersMagnet, a self-publishing and book marketing company.

The book is the third in a series with similar collections. But in “Desert Report,” Reynolds focuses on the transition of the region from the distant, almost mythical past of the Old West towards the currents of the modern day. Unlike previous entries, it’s lighter on the cowboy fiction. Instead, it focuses more on the natural beauty of the region as it is today, as well as many notable recent events. (Among these include the opening of a solar farm, stories of border crossings, and even the biography of a local art icon.)

No doubt, it catered to many fans of Western-style fiction among Guadalajara International Book Fair 2023 visitors as well as people who plan to tour the area and learn about the sights. “Desert Report” by June A. Reynolds is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore. Reynolds also shares photography of the deserts alongside her author updates on her website at https://www.jreynoldsbooks.com/.
