Quote / “Rediscovering the Wisdom of Human Nature makes a thought-provoking contribution to the growing body of literature concerning human happiness, its drivers, and its constraints.” — Seattle Book Review

“Rediscovering the Wisdom of Human Nature: How Civilization Destroys Happiness (Second Edition)” has gathered a fair share of reviews from critics and readers worldwide. The book highlights how mankind’s current way of life deprives us of the kind of relationships that we need to be happy.

“I strongly recommend this book to every truth seeker and reader interested in finding logical answers to humanity’s major problems. Chet’s book will help you free yourself from the chains of consumerism, expectations, and self-torture while connecting you to the spiritual and loving nature of every human. This eye-opening, paradigm-shifting book is a must-read! It’s the sort of book you read over and over again.” Foluso Falaye, Tulsa Book Review

In no uncertain terms, the author cogently points out how belief systems and ideology simply serve to keep the institutional construct of civilization intact while hardly making a dent in the true nature of suffering that has afflicted much of humanity. Whether it’s explaining the “Law of Life” or doing a deep dive into why humans no longer love one another, Shupe’s work provides a unique roadmap for individuals who feel there is more to life than their current state of being. Mihir Shah, US Review of Books

Chet Shupe, arguing for the restoration of some original untarnished version of sanity and thoughtfulness, gives readers an eye-opening and hopeful thought remedy for the future. The fact is, and Shupe’s dialectic on this is insurmountable—sisterhood—the company and society of women, contains the sensitivity, wholeness, and vision to ensure the happy perpetuation of the race. David Allen, Pacific Book Review

“Some readers may find this kind of book enlightening, inspiring them to adopt their own spiritual practices or simply view the world differently. I believe readers who enjoy books that challenge the status quo, psychology, and spiritual practices would like this book.” Theresa Kadair, San Diego Book Review

Author Bio

As a whistle-blower to the world, Chet Shupe speaks with urgency about the need to rediscover people’s connections with their own nature, if we are ever again to experience the contentment of sisterhood and brotherhood that is our natural heritage.

Chet Shupe is an electronics engineer who suffered from severe Attention Deficit Disorder, for much of his life. When he was 43, his condition was finally diagnosed, and he began treatment with Ritalin. Suddenly, life made sense. As a result of that extraordinary experience, he began writing on brain dysfunction to provide a conceptual framework for medically treating the brain.

As a result of that effort—combined with his professional knowledge of system control theory—Shupe’s subject soon changed from brain dysfunction to cultural dysfunction. He realized that the brain cannot find lasting contentment, nor can it produce behavior that serves the individual or the species, when functioning in a reality that, emotionally, it does not comprehend.
