Born in New York City in 1946 the author has lived through the times documented in this novel and has known many of the people whose lived inspired these characters. He has been a published author since 1961, working in poetry, journalism, fiction and the theater. Also an actor and director he has had more than a dozen plays commissioned and produced. Peter Bergman lives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the heart of The Berkshires. He is a founding member of the Berkshire Stonewall Community Coalition and writes for a number of newspapers as well as for Edge.com, and his own website BerkshireBrightFocus.com.
