Autobiography of American Soldier in French Foreign Legion Written by Richard Trevino, Jr. Ships Off to London Book Fair
The French Foreign Legion still ranks as one of the most elite military fighting forces in Europe. In one moving autobiography, Richard Trevino, Jr. gives readers a glimpse into this highly specialized yet also highly traditional corps. It was a life filled with both adventure yet also deeply troubling experiences. Aptly titled Legion, the book is now set to share its story overseas, starting with the prestigious London Book Fair 2024.
“Read a little out loud to my husband. It was so interesting, my 11-year-old granddaughter picked it up and finished reading it on her own. Very interesting and heartfelt story!” - Sophia Garza
Three months early and preparations for the upcoming London Book Fair 2024 are already underway. These include not only various publishers but even dozens of independent authors who just want to share their stories.
In the case of Richard Trevino, Jr., it’s a story that not many people have the privilege of telling. Born in the oil and ranch region of South Texas, Trevino survived his poverty-stricken childhood and eventually entered the U.S. Army.
That wasn’t the end of it, though. After the Army, he then wound up joining the French Foreign Legion. How he managed to accomplish such an extraordinary feat is all detailed in his autobiography “Legion: The True Story of Legion: A Texan’s Adventure in the French Foreign Legion”.
Trevino does not water down the immense difficulty he experienced throughout his life. This included not only the circumstances of his birth but also the harshness of training and combat missions as well as the stark differences between the culture of American soldiers and that of the legionnaires.
On the other hand, it was also a journey filled with many exciting, adventurous experiences that saw Trevino traveling to many parts of the world. It left him with so much to share, held back only by his difficulty in pouring out his emotions. The book had become his biggest and most recent attempt to finally tell everything that had been on his mind throughout his journey.
Visitors to the London Book Fair 2024 will get a chance to read his story when “Legion: The True Story of Legion: A Texan’s Adventure in the French Foreign Legion” goes on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth #6A90. The fair will occur at the Olympia London, London, UK, on March 12-14, 2024. Copies of Richard Trevino, Jr.’s book are available on Amazon and ReadersMagnet Bookstore.

Author Bio
Born in the oil and ranch region of South Texas in a small town called Alice, the birthplace of Tejano music, to a poor working-class family. There was no work for his family in Alice in the early 70s, and subsequently having to move to San Marcos, which is on the edge of the Texas Hill Country, looking for better jobs and better opportunities for the small family. As a young boy, he yearned for adventure and always wanted to see the world.
Having to grow up as a ranch hand gave Richard the strength and determination to be persistent in life. To adapt to any situation and to move forward in life no matter what the situation. Qualities that he would need later in life after joining the US Army and the French Army.
From the hills of Korea to the deserts of Africa he has roamed. You know to some people he’s the unluckiest guy in the world but to others, he’s the luckiest S.O.B. you’ll ever meet. Either way, you see it he is Richard Trevino Jr. from a small town in Texas and he is very happy that readers are taking the time to read his little story about his life.
