Sara Munson Deats’ Eloquent Tales About the Dearest Cats in Her Life Soon to Display at L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024
Sara Munson Deats is a prolific writer who formerly taught English Literature at the University of South Florida for over 40 years. On the side, she was also a passionate advocate for animal welfare, having cared for and adopted all sorts of pets throughout the years. The ones who really stood out, though, are several cats whose memory she decides to commemorate in her book “Cats I Have Loved.” The book is even slated to be displayed at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2024.
“The book is stupendously written, full of humorous and touching stories of feline and human love, passages of heartbreak and healing, and an overall sense of care and dedication to true, responsible pet ownership. For animal lovers everywhere, this is the book for you.” – Charles Asher
While many of the works displayed at the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024 tackle complex topics and themes, there are just as many featuring lighter stories, such as those about pets.
It’s why even a prolific author like Sara Munson Deats is eager to feature her work “Cats I Have Loved.” It’s a book that tells the stories of the most memorable cats she’s had in the many years she’s been a proud owner. On the side, she hopes it will continue to foster a great deal of love for animals in general and create greater awareness about their welfare.
“Cats I Have Loved” talks about over ten cats she’s owned, their lives set against the backdrop of various decades. Deats showcases a prolific and cultured pen when describing them, down to the names she’s given them.
Along the way, readers will also get bits of her own life story. She taught English Literature at the University of Southern Florida for over 40 years. She also makes very special mention of her work advocating for animal welfare. One chapter is even dedicated to the many wild and stray cats she’s also tended to alongside the ones she owned.
So, for animal lovers visiting this year’s Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Sara Munson Deats’ work can be a very worthwhile read. They can find “Cats I Have Loved” displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth 225. The literary festival will take place on April 20-21, 2024, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. The book is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Strategic Book Publishing.
