Author Teressa L. Diggs will introduce a world of wonder at the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books with her book Heather, Davy and the Marshwiggle. The literary festival will take place at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 20-21, 2024.
The L.A. Times Festival of Books is an annual public festival celebrating community, literature, culture, and arts. Deemed as the largest literary festival in the U.S., the event has drawn around 150,000 visitors from around the world since 1996. Heather, Davy and the Marshwiggle is a fantasy graphic novel that follows Heather and Davey as they embark on a magical adventure with the Marshwiggles. Marshwiggles are sprites related to gnomes, fairies, or trolls who live in the cranberry bogs of the Pennsylvania countryside. These little magical creatures are elusive, and people only get a glimpse of their golden lashes blinking as they run or disappear to hide in the cranberry bogs. Author’s Biography:
Teressa is proud of her Swedish heritage. Her grandparents journeyed from Sweden to North America in search of a brighter future. Her formative years were spent in an oil town near the town Midwest, Wyoming. She shared her childhood with a younger brother and two sisters.
Teressa is the proud mother of 5 children; 4 are still with her, while one tragically fell victim to SIDS.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming. Her most cherished role has always been that of a mother. Though she fondly reminisces about her children’s younger days, she now revels in her role as a grandmother to 13 grandchildren.
