Marsha Samoylenko Denison’s “Grisha’s Loop - My Slavic Saga” Will Be Displayed at the 2024 London Book Fair

“Grisha’s Loop – My Slavic Saga: From the Bolshevik Revolution to America: A Story of Courage and Survival” by Marsha Samoylenko Denison and Gregoire Ivanovich Samoylenko will be exhibited by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the 2024 London Book Fair. “Grisha’s Loop – My Slavic Saga” is a biography telling the life story of Gregoire Ivanovich Samoylenko, a soldier who fought in the Russian Revolution. It shares the journey of a boy growing into a man and never forgetting the extended family that raised him. Gregoire was forced to abandon his engineering studies to serve the military and serve his country. While in the service, Gregoire witnessed the horrors of war and individual abuse.

The autobiography went unfinished until Gregoire’s death. His daughter, Marsha S. Denison, extends the nomadic journey through personal accounts and with the help of Gregoire’s friend, Arthur Cornwall Knapp.

Author’s Biography:

Marsha Denison was born in Boston and grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. She received a B.A. degree from the University of Massachusetts, and her M.A. degree in Gerontology from St Joseph’s College in Connecticut. She has published two books, “Grisha’s Loop” in 2016, and “My Name is Buttons-and this is My Story” in 2023. Grisha’s Loop is a memoir of her immigrant father’s life and escape from Russia in 1922. The author has two daughters and now lives in Maine.
