AdvaMed Board Chair, Peter J. Arduini Announces Top Priorities to Guide the Future of MedTech

 Today, AdvaMed, the Medtech Association, announced Board Chairman Peter Arduini’s priorities to guide the vision of the medtech industry over the course of his two-year term. The priorities, which are established by each new Board chair, come as AdvaMed, the leading trade association, renews its advocacy efforts in Washington and globally to address key issues impacting medtech companies and the providers and patients they serve.

In his first meeting with the Board of Directors as Board Chair, Arduini outlined his top three priorities:

• Drive digital transformation in medtech
• Enable resilient healthcare systems and increase access to medtech innovation
• Create a strong, unified new AdvaMed

“I believe in the pivotal role AdvaMed plays in helping the industry succeed, from the smallest startups to the mid-caps to the large companies. Our industry has evolved and advanced significantly over the last decade, and we are well positioned to enable greater outcomes for patients and efficiencies for healthcare providers,” Arduini said in his announcement. “With the recent addition of AdvaMed Medical Imaging and AdvaMed Digital Health, our industry is fully represented by AdvaMed, opening up new advocacy opportunities to our members and the patients we serve. These priorities will guide this exciting new chapter for our industry, and I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on the AdvaMed Board to foster growth and healthcare innovation.”

Arduini has been president and CEO of GE HealthCare, a global medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions innovator, since January 2022, and he was unanimously elected last year to replace former AdvaMed Board Chair Ashley McEvoy. Arduini led the historic spin-off of GE HealthCare from GE in January 2023, among the largest med-tech spin-offs in history. He served as president and CEO of Integra LifeSciences from 2012 – 2022, and corporate vice president and president of Medication Delivery, Baxter Healthcare, from 2005 to 2010. Arduini spent 15 years at GE HealthCare in a variety of senior leadership roles for domestic and global businesses. Arduini also serves on the Boards of Directors of GE HealthCare, Bristol Myers Squibb and the National Italian American Foundation. He was named one of Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People” in the industry in 2023.
