Celebrating what would have been Terry Hall’s 65th birthday, Sky Arts presents a very… well… special tribute to one of the most influential bands of the 20th century - The Specials.

Produced by White Light Film Productions, this Sky Original explores how the band’s music was influenced by social, economic, and political events and how they have continued to shape contemporary music and popular culture internationally, with their message of unity and harmony in the face of ongoing political and social challenges. The Specials don’t just write memorable songs. They soundtrack moments in history.

The film features contributors from across the music industry including Blur’s Damon Albarn, Elvis Costello, Pauline Black, and The Specials’ very own Horace Panter and Lynval Golding.

Sky Original ‘Record On: The Specials – A Message to You’ will air 19th March at 9pm on Sky Arts, Freeview and NOW.
