Chelsea to play Man City and Real Madrid again – but this time Stateside!

Following hard on the heels of yesterday’s addition of a match against Celtic to our USA Tour 2024, meetings with Manchester City and Real Madrid are also confirmed, completing a five-game pre-season series across the Atlantic.

Chelsea will take to the pitch against Premier League rivals Manchester City on Saturday 3 August. As for the Celtic game, one of the USA’s mighty college football arenas will host the game – on this occasion the Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

On Tuesday 6 August we will play Spanish giants Real Madrid at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina – a venue during our 2015 and 2022 visits to the States.

The Chelsea vs Man City game is part of the 2024 FC Series of matches featuring top global soccer clubs and Chelsea vs Real Madrid is a fixture in the Soccer Champions Tour, which also brings together the world’s most iconic clubs for annual fixtures in major cities across North America.

Chelsea chief executive officer Chris Jurasek said: ‘We are delighted to announce these fixtures as part of our schedule.

‘Ohio Stadium is renowned for its history, and we know it is going to be an incredible occasion in front of our devoted US fanbase this summer when we play a fellow Premier League side in Manchester City.

‘Bank of America Stadium presents Chelsea with a fantastic setting to conclude our 2024 US summer tour when we face Real Madrid. The club had the pleasure of playing in Charlotte two years ago and we cannot wait to see our brilliant supporters once again on August 6.’

Tickets for the two matches will go on general sale on Wednesday 27 March but before that day, Chelsea fans can secure their places with an exclusive pre-sales window beginning on Monday 25 March.
