Maureen Crethan Santora Start on her journey in the New York City Public School System back in 1967, devoting more than 25 years to shaping young minds in early childhood education. Following a hiatus to raise her four children, including her son Christopher, who bravely sacrificed his life on September 11, 2001, Maureen bid farewell to her role as a staff developer at PS 2, Queens, in July 2001. She penned a book with a powerful message aimed at enlightening young students about the tragic event, emphasizing the destructive impact of hatred. A portion of the book’s sales goes towards the Christopher A Santora Educational Scholarship Fund, which offers scholarships and educational resources to schools.
