“Dark Side of the River” Takes Readers on a Thrilling Adventure Through Danger and Betrayal

Houston, TX – WEBWIRE

In his most recent book, “Dark Side of the River,” author Jim Gilliam takes readers on an exciting journey through treachery and danger. The story, which is set in 1956 New Orleans, centers on the bold adventures of young Tim Kelly as he makes his way through a world of betrayal, retaliation, and redemption.

Tim Kelly made a risky decision at the start of his journey when he joined the Coast Guard at the age of fourteen by lying about his age. Due to his youthful bravery, he gets awarded the renowned Silver Star medal in Vietnam. But his bravery is marred by an unjust discharge resulting from an act of retaliation for “friendly fire” that killed his fellow soldiers.

Returning home, Tim faces a moral dilemma involving an old friend turned ruthless drug cartel leader. Despite their complicated history, Tim finds himself entangled in the dark world of drug and human trafficking. When his cover is blown, he endures torture before a dramatic rescue unfolds just in time.

But the challenges don’t end there. Tim’s beloved Brenda, along with the Governor of Texas’s spirited daughter, is kidnapped by the cartel and taken to a secret island base off the coast of Yucatan. Will Tim muster the courage and cunning to rescue them before it’s too late?

Addig to the intrigue is the entry of bio-terrorist Dr. Heinrich Fleischer, who collaborates with the Campeche drug cartel to develop a deadly strain of respiratory Anthrax. Their sinister plan involves using a tactical nuclear device to blackmail the President of the United States, threatening catastrophic consequences for the global economy.

“Dark Side of the River” is a gripping tale of love, loyalty, and the lengths one man will go to protect those he holds dear. With its pulse-pounding action and intricately woven plot, this book will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
