At 52 years old, Norman Ceasar faced the sobering threat of prostate cancer, a disease that could rob him of his vitality and masculinity. Surviving the disease inspired him to write “Cancer Winner,” a book on surviving prostate cancer. His experience made him realize the importance of making other men aware and educating them about prostate cancer. It has reinforced the importance of health, not taking life for granted, but continuing to care for himself.

Norman’s mission is to tell the story of how he survived prostate cancer, mainly because the cancer was most curable when detected early. He believes the deaths of those who die from prostate cancer may have been avoided with just a little more knowledge about the disease since it is highly curable if caught early.

The author’s unwavering story describes how he overcame both physical and mental suffering. It helps readers, especially men, to safeguard their health and reclaim their lives after prostate cancer. “Cancer Winner” is Norman’s labor of love, a beacon of inspiration for everyone to see the importance and benefits of yearly check-ups.

Norman Ceasar was born and raised in Washington, DC. He attended the District of Columbia Public Schools, graduated from Woodward Preparatory School, and later took classes at the University of the District of Columbia, UDC. Norman worked for the US Postal Service until he retired in 2009 after 34 years of service. He also invested in Real Estate, purchased houses that needed work, renovated them, and rented them out.

Norman was inspired to write his book on surviving prostate cancer because of his experience with the disease; he realized the importance of making other men aware and educating them about prostate cancer. Too many men have died and are dying from prostate cancer. For those who died, their deaths may have been avoided with just a little more knowledge about the disease. It is highly curable if caught early.

His mission is to tell the story of how he survived prostate cancer, mainly because the cancer was detected early when it was most curable. Norman survived prostate cancer by getting his physical and blood work done every year in January, his birth month starting at age 35. He wanted to live and be here for his family. He believed God had more for him to do.

Norman prayed for God’s wisdom and then took the steps necessary to make that happen. He did the research necessary to become informed of his options, talking with his doctors and family, and finally choosing the best treatment for himself. He had to fight the battle in his mind when thoughts of doubt about his decisions would rear their heads.
