Lancia finishes 1000 Miglia 2024

Turin – WEBWIRE
  • The 2024 Mille Miglia marked the return of Lancia to this competition in the year of the Renaissance of the brand with an Aurelia B20 GT of 1951 and the New Lancia Ypsilon Edizione Cassina.
  • A debut at the 1000 Miglia Green for the New Lancia Ypsilon, being consigned in these precise days in Italy, in both electric and hybrid versions, to the first end customers at the revamped Lancia dealerships.

“Lancia is back at the 1000 Miglia, after a six-year absence, in the very year we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the legendary Alberto Ascari’s first victory in 1954, and in the year we have launched our Renaissance plan. A special thanks goes to Miki Biasion and Savina Confaloni, who drove the 1951 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT on a stunning route through our beautiful country, and thanks to the entire crew who drove the New Lancia Ypsilon Edizione Cassina. A special year for Lancia, celebrated by taking part in the most beautiful race in the world and obtaining a brilliant podium at the 1000 Miglia Green for the New Lancia Ypsilon, the first car in the brand’s new era, now available in both electric and hybrid versions.” stated Luca Napolitano, Lancia brand CEO.

The 1000 Miglia 2024 has just ended, with more than 400 classic cars participating at the race that left Bologna on the way back to Brescia, the city where the race has always historically begun. It passed enchanting locations, including Ferrara, Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda and Saḷ, with typically Italian landscapes.

30 Lancia cars were competing in the 42nd edition of the race, a considerable number of vehicles to express the brand’s historical leading role in the “most beautiful race in the world,” as Enzo Ferrari declared. The Lancia brand participated at the competition with a 1951 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT, one of the nine most beautiful cars in the brand’s history that inspired the design of the future models, driven by former rally driver Miki Biasion and by the Italian journalist Savina Confaloni.

The New Lancia Ypsilon finished at the third position participating for the first time at the 1000 Miglia Green. The first car in the brand’s new era therefore made this successful debut, on the very days the initial deliveries of both the electric and hybrid versions are made to end customers across Italy, at the Lancia dealerships revamped with the new Corporate Identity. A major result in terms of the performance and potential of the model, taking the brand into the electrification era.

Photos and videos of each stage will be uploaded daily to the Lancia press site, and to the brand’s official social media channels.
