Anthony R. Balista Shares a Story of Redemption Through Love at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest

The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will display Anthony R. Balista’s “Our Own Westside Love Story: With Words from Tony to Marie Including Poems Born of Enduring Love” at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest (PRLF). The book event will take place on September 7-8, 2024, at Printers Row Park, 620 S Dearborn St (Ida B Wells & Polk), Chicago, Illinois.

Presented by the not-for-profit Near South Planning Board, the Printers Row Lit Fest is the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest. This two-day open-air festival draws over 100,000 attendees as well as 100-plus booksellers displaying different types and genres of books and 200-plus authors participating in panels, discussions, and a variety of other programs. This community-based celebration for book lovers provides an opportunity for authors and publishing companies to showcase their works and products to a wide and diverse audience.

“Our Own Westside Love Story” is a memoir that tells a story about two star-crossed souls that have shaped a family for generations. Tony and Marie crossed each other’s paths many times until their experience of personal betrayals weaved them together. This story is a testament to how Tony and Marie walked past through family disapproval, a frightening illness, and their challenges to come together amidst scars and inner turmoil.

The book also includes real letters and poems that provide a glimpse of how the couple weathered the challenges that came their way.

Author’s Biography:

Anthony R. Balista, 81, is a retired US Army Viet Nam Veteran with 6 overseas deployments of 2 each to Korea, Vietnam, and Germany in his career. Mr. Balista is also a retired Systems Engineer with a background in Communications-Electronics, Information Technology, Program and Engineering management, having managed large multimillion dollar defense industry programs.

He is a prolific technical writer, having written thousands of pages of technical manuals, test procedures, specifications and electronic communication standards, for the US Navy Trident Submarine, Center for Engineering and Systems Integration, The United States Army, Delphi Packard, ITT Corporation, RCA Corporation, and others.

He has four children and nine grandchildren and currently resides in Warren, Ohio.
