Leisa Braband’s “The Pet Nanny” Will Share a Heartwarming Story at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest

The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will exhibit the children’s book by Leisa Braband, “The Pet Nanny,” at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest. The book event will take place on September 7-8, 2024, at Printers Row Park, 620 S Dearborn St (Ida B Wells & Polk), Chicago, Illinois.

Presented by the not-for-profit Near South Planning Board, the Printers Row Lit Fest is the largest free outdoor literary event in the Midwest. This two-day open-air festival draws over 100,000 attendees from across the country and the world as well as 100-plus booksellers displaying different types and genres of books and 200-plus authors participating in panels, discussions, and a variety of other programs. This community-based celebration for book lovers provides an opportunity for authors and publishing companies to showcase their works and products to a wide and diverse audience.

“The Pet Nanny” is a children’s book that follows the story of Libby Lancaster. Libby is a twelve-year-old girl whose parents have decided to divorce. Due to her parents’ decision, Libby is forced to move from her suburban home to downtown Chicago, where everything is new. It’s summer, so Libby cannot find the comfort of her school chums and the only neighborhood she’s ever known. Her new environment makes her bored and lonely until she becomes a pet nanny.

Leisa Braband is in her mid-sixties and still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. She’s been a music teacher, dishwasher, donut maker, tutor, administrative assistant, legal secretary, nonprofit association executive, realtor, wine seller, political campaign worker, event coordinator, dry cleaner clerk, and pet sitter. Of all these career choices, pet sitter is her favorite (mainly because her clients couldn’t talk back). What’s next? she ponders. Hmm… Maybe an author?
