Philadelphia 76ers Sign 2024 First-Round Draft Pick Jared McCain

NO. 16 OVERALL PICK FEATURED ON 76ERS’ SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER IN SALT LAKE CITY AND NBA 2K25 SUMMER LEAGUE 2024 IN LAS VEGAS

WILL WEAR NO. 20 WITH THE 76ERS

PHILADELPHIA – WEBWIRE

Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Jared McCain. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McCain is scheduled to participate in both the Salt Lake City Summer League (July 8-10) and the NBA 2K25 Summer League 2024 in Las Vegas (July 12-22).

McCain was selected by Philadelphia with the No. 16 overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft after one season at Duke, earning a 2023-24 ACC All-Rookie Team selection and was an All-ACC Honorable Mention.

In 36 games (all starts) with the Blue Devils, he averaged 14.3 points per game, while shooting 41.4-percent on 5.8 attempts from beyond the arc, adding 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals.

The California native set a Duke freshman record with eight made triples en route to a career-best 35-point performance against Florida State on Feb. 17. The 35-point effort matched Zion Williamson for the most points ever scored by a Blue Devils’ freshman. He later notched a school NCAA Tournament-record eight threes in a second-round contest against James Madison on March 24.

McCain recorded three games of at least 30 points, the most among all NCAA Division I freshmen last season. Two of his three 30-point games came during Duke’s run to the Elite Eight of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Before attending Duke, McCain was a 2022-23 McDonald’s All-American and earned a gold medal with USA Basketball at the 2022 U18 Americas Championship.

McCain will wear No. 20 for the 76ers.
