A Unique Calling to Become a First Responder With LAPD is Provided in the Testimony and Life Changing Experiences of the Author

There will be plenty of prominent speakers and authors showing up at Chicago’s Printers Row Lit Fest. However, many more books in this massive outdoor exhibit will be coming from other independent authors who are just as eager to tell their stories and the incredible work they have done in their own community. One of them is former LAPD officer Patricia L. Blake, who has just recently arranged to exhibit her book sharing her life in the force titled “Touched by the Hand of God.”

San Diego, CA – WEBWIRE

Join Patricia Blake as she shares her story about the human emotional side of police work spanning her over 33 years working for the LAPD, and an additional seven years as a LAPD Reserve Officer. Blake’s two favorite quotes are by Winston Churchill, "Without courage, all other virtues become meaningless"; and legendary actor John Wayne, "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway."

Like many of America’s largest publishing events, the Printers Row Lit Fest in Chicago is an outdoor showcase that features prominent guest speakers and best-selling authors. It is also an opportunity for other creators and writers to showcase their own stories to curious readers. Many readers, in turn, get to learn about other remarkable people who contributed to their own community.

Patricia L. Blake is one of these earnest independent authors. In her case, she hopes that her book shares not only her life as a retired LAPD officer but also pays tribute to the many heroic first responders she had encountered in the over 33 years she has served.

Its is “Touched by the Hand of God: In the City of Angels SEND ME!” Her accounts not only share the emotional, human side of police work but also present them through the eyes of Blake’s own faith in God. Some of these accounts include life-changing miracles and unbelievable interventions that allowed people to overcome adversity with strength, courage, and “relentless resolve under fire.”

Blake joined the LAPD in May of 1983. At Rampart Division, she became one of the first two female Field Training Officers; and the first female Senior Lead Officer in 1987. She’s also a criminology graduate from California State University of Northridge and has a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Throughout her career, she was directly involved in a number of outreach and goodwill initiatives in various communities.

Now, through “Touched by the Hand of God,” she hopes to tell more people what she has seen.
