Coca-Cola HBC team members carry the flame at Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay

Earlier this year, three exceptional members of the Coca-Cola HBC team – Yiannis Vidras, Senior Commercial Capability Manager, Group Sales; Misan Ilesanmi, SC Capability Development Manager, Nigeria; and Suad Tabakovic, Regional Marketing Activation Lead, Adria, were selected to carry the Olympic Flame at the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay. Selected from over 480 colleagues who shared their inspiring stories and demonstrated their embodiment of Olympic values, Yiannis, Misan, and Suad represented the spirit and dedication of our entire Coca-Cola HBC team.

On Friday 12 July, the three of them traveled to Dijon, France, for an unforgettable experience. Running with the Olympic flame, they created memories that will last a lifetime and shared their reflections on this momentous occasion.

Suad captured the essence of the day: “Carrying the flame with pride, I felt the positive energy of everyone present, pride in what I have achieved, and joy for the moment I am living. That flame symbolises not only our achievements, but also all our dreams and desires that drive us.”

For Yiannis, the atmosphere was electrifying: “The atmosphere was electric, with crowds lining the streets, cheering and waving to all torch bearers. As I held the flame, I felt a surge of pride and a deep connection to everyone around me. It was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together.”

Reflecting on the day, Misan shared: “It was mind-blowing, much bigger than I ever imagined. Doing this with Suad and Yiannis was even more memorable. It was comforting to connect with colleagues who share the same values.”

The experience not only brought pride and joy to Yiannis, Misan, and Suad but also inspired employees across Coca-Cola HBC. Their participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay exemplifies the values we cherish and the spirit of unity and inspiration we strive to foster.
