Inspiration of why the author wrote her book:
Selina Jackson’s mother died and she went into foster care, bouncing from foster home to foster home. She doesn’t recall ever feeling wanted as a child. That created all kinds of emotional issues for her. She is someone who knows how it feels to be invisible, to be almost at the brink of having no hope and returning from that. She doesn’t want any kids to have to suffer the way she did. She wants to use her education and experience to make a significant contribution to the lives of as many young people as possible.
