Author Bio
Margaret Carpenter Arnett BSN, ATR, was born in England and educated at Cheltenham Ladies College and the Nightingale School of Nursing, St. Thomas Hospital, London. She has lived most of her adult life in the western United States. She is an artist, art therapist, teacher, writer, and an accomplished and talented painter. Primarily a watercolorist, Margaret now works with pastels, mixed media, and collages. She is a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society and has participated in juried and invitational shows in California and the Northwest.

Combining her art and nursing backgrounds, Margaret became an art therapist in 1983. She taught classes on Understanding Children’s Drawings, which led to work and research for Child Haven, Seattle, but she concentrated mostly on “Art and Healing” in her private practice. She led an art therapy support group at the University of Washington Cancer Center for sixteen years and presented at the American Holistic Health Conferences.
