Sheldon D. Dottery’s “A Vampire’s Story” Will Bring Horror at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest

The Printers Row Lit Fest, the largest outdoor literary showcase in the Midwest, is an annual event at the historic Printing House Row (Printers Row) in the downtown Chicago area. The event stretches from Ida B. Wells to Polk Street, providing tourists, book marketers, publishers, and authors a place to enjoy the literary festivity at the Loop. Presented by the not-for-profit Near South Planning Board, the event provides authors, marketers, antiquarians, content creators, and publishers an opportunity to strengthen their network and marketability.

“A Vampire’s Story” is a horror novel that follows Michael as he discovers a world where darkness reigns, and adjustment is a cruel necessity. After death snatched away his former existence, Michael now lives as someone with the twisted gift of immortality and a ravenous hunger to reclaim what was stolen. In his journey, he slowly unravels the truth that an adversary is emerging, ready to cause chaos and bloodshed. With his newfound abilities and eternity, Michael accepts his fate to fight what’s lurking in the shadows.

“A Vampire’s Story” is Sheldon D. Dottery’s debut novel. It was inspired by a script he wrote for his theater course in college in 2010.

Sheldon Dottery was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, but spent his teenage years growing up in Jackson, MI. He loves to create new stories each day, whether it be in the form of lyrics or scripts. “A Vampire’s Story” is his first official novel, which came from a script he wrote back in college for a theater course in 2010. With new characters and story development, the novel was born.
