Pastor Velinda Webb Smith’s Self-Help Guide “Pureness of Integrity” Will Be Displayed at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest

Author’s Biography:

Pastor Velinda is the founder of New Life Wake Up Ministries Inc. Church, which started as New Life Mission AME Zion on 9/9/2001. 2002, Velinda was ordained as a Deacon and then a Pastor in the AME Zion church. She has done church services at the Pre-Release Center and the Lycoming County Prison through United Churches of Lycoming County and was ordained as an Elder in the AME Zion Church. Pastor Velinda taught rap scripture to the children of the church. She used scripture in songs and marches. She and the children traveled around Pennsylvania performing skits with this material until 2009.

In 2010, Pastor Velinda received her Master’s Degree in Divinity, remarried her second husband, Pastor Derek Smith, and taught Bible Study and church services at the Lewisburg Federal Prison for five years. The Pastor was at Sojourner Truth Ministries with Pastor Larry Cole, Gloria Cole, and Pat Bole. Here, she was President for 7 years. In 2018, she wrote her first book, “Pureness of Integrity,” part 1, which was published in 2022; this is the start of her spiritual journey as a published author. (2017) God Called the Pastor to move into the calling of Overseer to further her spiritual gifts.

In 2022, Overseer Pastor Velinda volunteered as a chaplain at the UPMC Williamsport Hospital. The Pastor’s calling and purpose is to the Valley of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37:3) and Wake up! What is your purpose? (Romans 8:28) She firmly believes every child of God has a purpose to bring glory to God. God has given her the ministry of the Wake Up House, where God sends her people from the streets, prisons, and hospitals. Her job is to plant and water the Word into them so they learn God’s purpose for their lives.

She is still diligently working to bring people out of the Valley of Dry Bones (Ezekiel 37) to wake them up in the name of Jesus Christ. Overseer Pastor Velinda’s life work is to do the work of Jesus as stated in John 9:4 NKJV. She must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
