Christian Children’s Author Julia Hallmark Now Set to Exhibit First Book in Spacefaring Missionary Adventure Series at 2024 GIBF

For over a decade, Julia Hallmark worked as a preschool teacher sharing her faith with children via engaging sci-fi stories and her love of reading. But after retirement, she realized she could make an entire series out of those tales and set off to publish them as a series of novels. The first book, “Once Upon a Mountain,” was published earlier this year and is even set to exhibit at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2024.

“It’s a great book!!!! I love it everyone should buy it!!!” – Missy Johnson

Julia Hallmark has a lot of love for many things. She loves reading. She loves God. She loves telling stories to children. These are just some of the many blessings she’s received through the thirteen years she’s served as a preschool teacher.

Still, she feels that God is far from finished with her witnessing. Even after she retired, she realized many of the stories she had been telling would also make for great, engaging children’s books and this led her to becoming a published author.

This year, she is excited to have finished the first book in her planned, young adult, Christian sci-fi series. Titled “Once Upon a Mountain,” she has already arranged to have it exhibited to worldwide reading audiences. She’s even set to exhibit it at the upcoming Guadalajara International Book Fair (the largest publishing convention of its kind in the Americas).

The story sets the stage for the interdimensional adventures of the Di Paula family. What seemed to be another usual hiking trip takes a turn for the bizarre for nine-year-old Jenna and her father Brian. The pair are whisked away via a portal taking them across time and space. Jenna finds herself in the civilization of the Sasqui (creatures we know as Sasquatch). Her father Brian ends up on a different planet. Jenna finds herself alone on the planet Sasqui with only God for company. Jenna learns that she is God’s unwanted answer to the aliens’ desperate prayers (whether they like it or not). The miraculous presence of God in Jenna’s life quickly sets the entire Sasqui civilization on its head. God rapidly becomes Jenna’s only safety as he teaches her how to adapt to these volatile beings, and navigate their alien civilization.

Those who would like to check out “Once Upon a Mountain” at the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair can find it displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at stands GG40 and GG42. ReadersMagnet’s exhibit will run from November 30 to December 4, 2024. The book fair, however, will run from November 30 to December 8, 2024, at the prestigious Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

The book is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
