Florida Authors and Publishers Association Medalist Gayle Paben Set to Exhibit Colorful Novel Set in Scenic Sarasota at Frankfurt Book Fair
Gayle Paben is a retired teacher who has earned much recognition in Florida for her stories about nature as well as the ways children gradually grow and learn about the world. And like many dedicated authors, she is now eager to start showcasing her work at the upcoming Frankfurt International Book Fair. This year, she has chosen to exhibit “The Colors of the Sea,” a story set in scenic Sarasota and how one little, small-town girl grew to see it in a better light.
“What a fine introduction to Florida living Gayle Paben’s The Colors of the Sea would make to any family with young children relocating, especially to the Gulf Coast.” – Amazon review by Emanuel LoGalbo, Jr.
The Frankfurt Book Fair, also called Frankfurter Buchmesse, continues to be one of the largest literature conventions in Europe, attracting thousands of publishers from around the world for days of seminars and workshops as well as negotiations for rights and licenses.
Each publisher also represents the creative minds of countless authors who are just as eager to arrange showcases of their best work and expand their readership. These aren’t exclusive to million-dollar best-sellers either. They also include other talented writers who want to keep doing what they do best.
Such is the case for Gayle Paben, a two-time silver medalist of the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. Paben had also won a bronze medal for the book that she is about to exhibit at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair. Her most recent book, A Snowboy Spreads Christmas Joy also won a bronze medal.
Its title is “Colors of the Sea,” and it is a book dedicated to the seaside beauty of her state. Set in Sarasota, it follows a little girl named Casey who isn’t much for the beaches and sunny atmosphere. Casey grew up in a small town in Illinois. And like many kids her age who had been moved to an entirely new place, she immensely disliked how wildly different Florida was from her old home.
Still, she gradually changes her mind when she meets Matt, a little boy who teaches her about Florida’s amazing tropical wildlife, and Mr. Kearns, an elderly painter who encourages the young Casey to see the world “through a different lens.”
“Colors of the Sea” has already earned plenty of praise for its vibrant portrayal of Florida life and natural beauty. Those looking for a scenic read at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024 can find The “Colors of the Sea” at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at stand 6.0 B11. The book fair will take place on October 16-20, 2024, at Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The book is available on the ReadersMagnet Bookstore, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
