“Beyond All Doubt” starts with the evacuation from Dunkirk. Lieutenant Karl Vita of the British Intelligence Service volunteers to command an armed trawler for the rescue mission. Winston Churchill ordered all available Royal Navy, merchant ships, and privately owned vessels to sail to Dunkirk on May 26th, 1940. Their mission was to save as many of the troops stranded on those beaches as possible and return them safely to England. From then on it would be referred to as – “The Miracle of Dunkirk.”

Karl and the French officer Jean Yves Jerva returned to occupied France on an intelligence-gathering mission. Their cover seemed to be working until the Gestapo exposed them. They were taken prisoner, interrogated, and mercilessly beaten to the point where Karl considered taking his own life. In a moment of despair, the building was rocked by a massive explosion. Saved by French Resistance fighters, all the prisoners escaped, leaving the Gestapo headquarters as a pile of rubble.
