Comical and Quotable Reflections on Hood Life (and Escaping It) By Frederick Jordan Set for Global Stage at Frankfurt Buchmesse 2024

The Frankfurt Book Fair, also known as Frankfurt Buchmesse, welcomes publishers, authors, and content creators from all corners of the global community. So as visitors explore the displayed works, they are bound to find a book that’s close to home, as well as other books telling stories about the homes of others.

Representing his own corner of African-American life is Frederick Jordan, author of “Quotes, Jokes and Stories to Live By: Mostly from the ‘Hood.’”

The book’s title cuts to the chase as a resource of inspirational one-liners for those doing their best to make it in the world.

What makes it more unique is that Jordan’s humor and wisdom derive straight from his life amidst hood culture.

Jordan grew up in the projects of North East Washington, DC. He’s seen the hardships and social injustices that always came with the life, including gang violence, limited opportunities, and racial prejudices from authorities. But rather than let such events turn him into another victim of the system, he strove hard and achieved multiple graduate degrees, including one from Stanford. He then dedicated his engineering practice to improving the communities of African-Americans and other minorities.

“Quotes, Jokes and Stories to Live By” is just one more thing he wants to contribute so that others can find the reason to hold their head high despite the prevailing inequality and despite the dangers of difficult situations.

Visitors to the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair can find “Quotes, Jokes and Stories to Live By: Mostly from the ‘Hood’” at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at stand 6.0 B11. The global book fair will last from October 16 to 20, 2024, at Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Frederick Jordan grew up in the projects of North East Washington, DC. He survived the rigors of gang wars and lack of opportunity to go on to obtain an undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from Howard University and Stanford University, respectively. His respect and commitment to the improvement of the African American and other minority communities allowed his engineering practice to reach into many of the major ghetto areas of the United States.

His engineering, civil rights and philanthropic activities has garnered him over 100 local and national awards and accolades.
