He graduated from the Military Aviation Academy in Zadar and took up his postgraduate studies at the Military Academy of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia. His aviation career started with simple gliders like the Libis-17 before officially training as a pilot for an SA-341 Gazelle helicopter at the Jasenice airport in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

His military career had him serving in both an anti-submarine and anti-tank squadron while going all the way up to deputy commander. He had even served as lecturer of the Aviation Navigation course at the Macedonian Academy.

Zhika Kuzmanovski, was born on 07.03.1958 in the village of Tromedja, municipality of Kumanovo, in Macedonia. He graduated from the military aviation high school Marshal Tito in Mostar, the Military Aviation Academy in Zadar, and postgraduate studies at the Military Academy of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia.

He started his pilot career on the gliders Libis-17 and Blanik and Libis-17, jumping from a parachute from a Douglas plane DC-3 and initial flight training on Zlin’s aircraft, then continues training in theoretical center Zemunik in Zadar, Croatia and flight training on the SA-341 Gazelle helicopter at the Jasenice airport in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After completing the military aviation academy, in 1979 he began active service in the 784th anti-submarine squadron of the 97th aviation brigade at the Divulje /Split heliport/hydrodrome on anti-submarine Ka-25 and Mi-14 helicopters.

He continues his flying career at Petrovec airport Skopje, Macedonia where he continues to fly Helicopter SA-341 Gazelle and SA-342 Gazelle/HERA for light transport and communication and correction of artillery fire.

After the breakup of Yugoslavia, he stayed in Macedonia and continues his career in aviation and performs more duties as the deputy commander of the anti-tank squadron, flight safety officer at the Macedonian Air Force and Air Defense Command, and for a shorter period of time he works as a lecturer of the Aviation Navigation course at the Macedonian Academy.

He retired in 2003, and in 2009 he moved to the USA with his entire family
