Miracle Marathon Runner Ben Hinton Sets Exhibit of Heartfelt Faith Testimony at the Guadalajara International Book Fair
Even after surviving a near-fatal brain inflammation disease as a baby, Ben Hinton has lived a life under pressure. He went on to suffer a debilitating infection in his right eye and then a traumatic brain injury during his adult years. Despite this, he has come to realize that it’s faith that has kept him going amidst all that adversity. The Guadalajara International Book Fair, also known as Feria Internacíonal del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), is said to be the largest global publishing convention in the Western Hemisphere. Hinton distinguished himself after successfully running a half marathon despite suffering a near-fatal brain injury just eight weeks prior. Miraculously, he did. That wasn’t the end of his troubles, though. Being seen as a sort of ‘miracle baby’ to a single mother put a lot of pressure on him to succeed. Aside from the brain injury he had suffered, he also had close brushes with near blindness and had to find ways to support his mother through her battle with alcoholism.
