Teresa Lotti named cultural resources practice lead for HNTB

Lotti works with clients to provide innovative solutions in niche practice area

ATLANTA – WEBWIRE

HNTB announces Teresa (Terri) Lotti as cultural resources practice lead supporting HNTB’s environmental planning practice. Lotti was previously the cultural resources section manager in Georgia’s environmental planning group where she oversaw the Section 106 practice.

As the cultural resources practice lead, Lotti will collaborate with HNTB environmental planning groups helping to build a niche practice that delivers innovative solutions for significant environmental planning needs in transportation. These needs can range from standard DOT federal requirements under Section 106 to complex human burial relocations. In her role, Lotti works closely with the Federal Highways Administration and the State Historic Preservation Office to facilitate timely project delivery, developing a specialized process for project delivery as it relates to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

With more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry, including two decades as an archaeologist and history team leader at the Georgia Department of Transportation, Lotti brings clients diverse skills and expertise in cultural resources process and policy.

“Understanding the studies, assessments and regulations around historical and cultural resources preservation is an important element to the environmental planning process in the transportation sector,” said Erin McGehee, environmental planning department manager and associate vice president at HNTB. “Terri’s leadership in this area is well-known and respected in transportation agencies across Georgia. We look forward to broadening her expertise to support clients in this field across the firm.”

Lotti holds a master’s degree in history from the University of West Georgia and a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Alabama.
