Author Nolan J Harkness Depicts Life in Heaven Through His Christian Fantasy Fiction Book “Through Heaven’s Vision”

There is only one book that leads to Heaven, and that is the Bible. To know what it might be like to live in Heaven for all eternity, only one book is needed, and that book is “Through Heaven’s Vision: An Imaginary Journey of Heaven’s Perspective, Guided by Scripture” (Trilogy Christian Publishing; 2024) by Nolan J Harkness.

Harkness has long lived a life committed to doing his share of work in the Lord’s vineyard. He worked in youth ministry for most of his adult life, traveled as an evangelist at revivals, and ran a street outreach in his city. He also produced and recorded over 2500 radio broadcasts. Putting God as his priority in life, Harkness never runs out of fervor in carrying out the calling God has for him.

This time, the calling to serve Him comes in a new way – and through a new medium: writing a book. Harkness has become a published author with the release of his Christian fantasy fiction book “Through Heaven’s Vision.”

“Through Heaven’s Vision” is an introspective novel with obvious Christian themes, plenty of scriptural references, and elements of time travel. The book revolves around the question, “What if someone in Heaven was able to teach us how to handle some of the most complex problems we face here on Earth, ahead of time?” In the book, that “someone” is assigned by God to teach a special group of individuals several life lessons to prepare them for the greatest battle of all time: the battle for the souls of men.

The novel hopes to decode part of the mystery of what it might be like residing in heaven for all eternity. Harkness combines his forty-five years as a prayer intercessor with a biblically inspired imagination to propose a depiction of what living with Jesus in a beautiful golden city for millions and millions of years might look like.

The author once shared his dream of visiting Heaven in a 2019 piece for The Christian Post, in which he described Heaven as “an entire city of pure gold. The buildings had door openings and window openings but no doors or windows. Yes, the streets are gold as the Bible says. They are made up of large shining cobblestones. They were absolutely stunning!” Waking up the next day, he received an urging from God to “speak on the subject of Heaven.”

“Through Heaven’s Vision” is the author’s tool for reaching out to a contemporary audience who would highly unlikely ever pick up and read a Bible. Furthermore, the book also serves to reach out to those who have yet to discover the reality of God’s love for them. Harkness wrote in an Instagram post about his work, “By weaving God’s timeless truths into an inspiring true storyline, a stepping path for the unlearned has historically been a tool to lead untold numbers to faith in God through Christ.”

Harkness has arranged an exhibit for “Through Heaven’s Vision” at the 2024 Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL Guadalajara), with the help of self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet. The FIL Guadalajara will take place from November 30 to December 4, 2024. The book fair will be held from November 30 to December 8, 2024, at the Expo Guadalajara, Av. Mariano Otero 1499, Colonia Verde Valle, Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. ReadersMagnet will display the book at their exhibit at stands GG40 and GG42 from November 30 to December 4.

Author and journalist Nolan J. Harkness has followed his calling to be a writer in many ways since his childhood. For much of his adult life, he worked in youth ministry and radio ministry. For several years, he also traveled as an evangelist when he started writing op-eds for a large group of Christian newspapers and was a contributing author to a book called “The Right to Believe,” published by The Christian Post. This last venture, to write “Through Heaven’s Vision,” a fantasy fiction novel, he felt was a clear calling from God.
