Dora Przybylek is a storyteller, a Peruvian poet, and a screenwriter. She currently lives in New York. Her first novel, Luna llena, Cabalgando sin riendas, won three awards at the 2009 International Latino Book Awards: Best Novel/Adventure/Drama Spanish or Bilingual, Best Novel Romance Spanish or Bilingual, and Best First Book Spanish. Her second novel, Luque 687, Visitas al ayer, received an honorary mention at the 2014 International Latino Book Awards. Her poetry has also received many awards.

Her children’s books, part of the Luisita Series, have received several awards, including the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 International Latino Book Awards. Her titles include topics such as cancer in children, COVID-19, people with disabilities, recycling, children, and war.
