Nectir, a startup giving every student a personalized AI learning partner, today announced a $6.3 million seed round led by Long Journey Ventures along with Entrada Ventures, Precursor Ventures, and Behind Genius Ventures. The platform is the easiest way for schools to deploy AI across their organization while maintaining safety and privacy. The fresh capital will fuel Nectir’s ambitious product roadmap and team expansion, with the company actively hiring sales, operations, and engineering professionals to support its rapidly accelerating growth.

Schools’ Problems: Fewer Teachers, Lower Funding, and Underwhelming EdTech

The US education system is facing a severe crisis with an estimated 300,000 teacher deficit and $150 billion annual shortfall in funding. These shortcomings have caused student test scores to plummet to their lowest levels in decades. While efforts have been made to solve many of these issues with technology, most have failed to significantly improve academic outcomes or support teachers. While past EdTech solutions have focused on digitizing content or simplifying administrative tasks, they often lack the personalized support that students need to thrive.
