Raised in Georgia, she embraced her adventurous spirit as a tomboy, working as a police dispatcher and EMT, and marrying the love of her life. However, when a shocking Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis changed everything in 2002, Patti found herself grappling with profound questions about faith, health, and purpose. Her world was turned upside down when she was faced with a debilitating illness that led to numerous medical appointments, hospital visits, and the heartbreaking end of her marriage.

About the Author
A proud Georgia native, born just west of Atlanta in 1974, Patti Pickens’ Southern Georgia twang is as distinctive as Miss Scarlett’s in “Gone with the Wind.” At heart, she remains a tomboy who doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty - as long as the weather is warm. Camping has always been a passion of hers, and it continues to be a cherished activity. She’s also a lifelong fan of New Kids on the Block and always will be.

As mentioned in her story, she continues to see her MS doctor regularly. Together, they explore ideas and approaches to manage her migraines. She remains MS-free, and while treatment options for her condition are no longer a focus, she is immensely grateful for the journey that brought her here.

She sincerely thanks everyone who has purchased a copy of her book and taken the time to read it, hoping her story has conveyed the endless hope she carried while battling this painful disease. Today, she lives MS-free, continually writes, and embraces life to the fullest.
