Canon U.S.A. Supports Ryan Seacrest Foundation with Holiday Toy Drive for Children and Families
Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions that is dedicated to empowering communities in need throughout Long Island, recently delivered toys and games to patients at Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center. In addition, 10 employee volunteers from Canon U.S.A.—including Executive Vice President Seymour Liebman—came to the hospital to engage with patients and pay tribute to the nurses and doctors and other healthcare heroes who care for the patients. This initiative was part of Canon U.S.A.,’s relationship with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation and the company’s ongoing efforts to support the Seacrest Studio at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, which is a broadcast media center for patients to explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media and give them exciting and stimulating activities that encourage optimistic thoughts during treatment. During the event, Canon also gave the studio a PowerShot V10 camera and an IVY 2 mini photo printer.
“Supporting local organizations that bring joy to children during the holiday season is a true honor and is part of Canon’s ongoing mission to build a strong future together for everyone,” said Isao “Sammy” Kobayashi, President and CEO of Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Canon is dedicated to uplifting communities and inspiring creativity, and this toy drive extends our relationship with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation to empower young patients at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and beyond.”
The new, unwrapped toys were generously donated by Canon employees at the company’s Melville headquarters throughout the month of November. Items included Legos, Play-Doh sets, card games, and board games, which will be distributed to the children at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. During the event, Canon volunteers led a holiday-themed Bingo game to brighten patients’ spirits and gave them a tour of the Seacrest Studio with Executive Vice President Seymour Liebman.
“At Cohen Children’s Medical Center, the Seacrest Studios have transformed how we engage our patients, offering them a creative outlet and a sense of normalcy during their treatment,” said Cari Quinn, RN, president Cohen Children Medical Center and senior vice president of Pediatric Services, Northwell Health. “The addition of Canon’s imaging equipment has elevated the studio experience for our patients, interns, and staff. This holiday season, we’re thrilled with the support from Canon and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation in spreading even more joy through this toy drive.”
Canon U.S.A. worked with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation to equip Seacrest Studios at 14 pediatric hospitals with state-of-the-art digital imaging technology, including EOS R Full-Frame Mirrorless cameras, high-end RF L-Series Lenses, and compact photo printers. By donating this advanced equipment, Canon supports the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s mission to inspire and uplift children and their families during hospital stays.
“Our realtionsip with Canon U.S.A. has allowed us to bring unparalleled creative opportunities to children and families at Cohen Children’s Medical Center,” said Meredith Seacrest Leach, Executive Director and CEO of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. “We are grateful for their continued generosity and excited to collaborate on this heartwarming toy drive that will bring smiles to so many faces this holiday season.”
This holiday season, Canon also collected gifts to be donated to the U.S. Marine Toys for Tots Program, a longstanding effort that provides gifts to children in need across the country.
