Philadelphia 76ERS’ Tyrese Maxey Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

32.3 Points per Game Ranked Third in League During Week

Earns Second Career Weekly Honor After Philadelphia’s 3–0 Mark

PHILADELPHIA – WEBWIRE

The NBA announced today that Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between Dec. 23-29. This is the second weekly honor of the 2024 All-Star’s career.

In three games – all wins – against San Antonio, at Boston, and at Utah, Maxey produced 32.3 points (3rd in NBA) on 46.5-percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 2.7 steals. No other player averaged such numbers throughout the week.

Maxey scored at least 32 points in each of the three contests, highlighted by a 33-point (12-23 FG), 12-assist, three-steal performance at Boston on Christmas Day. His three consecutive 30-point games matches the longest such streak of his NBA career (March 14-18, 2024).

The week started with Maxey draining his 600th career three-pointer against the Spurs on Dec. 23, joining Allen Iverson (885), Robert Covington (724), and Kyler Korver (661) as the only players in franchise history to reach that mark.

Maxey shot 13-of-33 (39.4%) from three-point range throughout the week, including two games with five makes from deep. His 38 career games with five-plus makes from beyond the arc are the most in franchise history.

This is the second career Player of the Week honor for Maxey, and the first by a 76er since Joel Embiid earned the award on Jan. 22, 2024, last season.

In 23 games this season, Maxey is averaging 26.0 points, 5.4 assists, and a career-high 2.0 steals.

Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
