Santa asked if the children could help. Their eldest son, Jens, ran through the Stanford campus after dusk ringing a bell. Over 20 children, ages 3 to 12, eagerly followed the sound, chasing him through the neighborhood. After a thrilling pursuit, the bell was found hanging from a tree branch not far from the Brock-Utne home. This marked the beginning of a cherished Christmas tradition that continues to this day.
