“Yolanda Hill’s transparency is so well needed today. Thank you for everything this has really helped me. I am currently stepping into a leadership role of Women’s ministry and this will be a great tool to use. The time has come for all women to step up and speak up, whether past or present. After reading your book I gave my testimony openly after decades of hurt and shame.” – Linda Smith, Amazon review

The book event will take place on March 11-13, 2025, at Olympia London, Hammersmith Rd, London W14 8UX, UK. The London Book Fair (LBF) is the premier event for the global publishing community to establish connections, gain knowledge, and shape the future of creative content on various platforms.
From the age of six until her teenage years, author Yolanda Hill experienced inappropriate behavior from men she trusted. It led to feelings of insecurity, guilt, shame, fear, and depression. Over time, these experiences resulted in shameful behaviors. It took her a lifetime to recover from these negative experiences and share her story in “Pretty Black.”
In her book, Hill recounts her journey to her “pretty black” moment, revealing how she discovered the truth, beauty, grace, and strength within herself. She connects the dots of her childhood, reflecting on how she lost touch with her biological father and then experienced a similar loss with her stepfather. These relationships profoundly impacted her adolescent years, both positively and negatively.
“Pretty Black” serves to help mothers and fathers understand the importance of a healthy bond between a daughter and her father. Such a bond can help a daughter make healthy choices in future relationships. Through this story, readers will discover the God-given strengths within Hill and see how beautifully she has been designed to become a vessel of honor. Although there are detours along the way, faith and persistence lead her to a fulfilling conclusion.
