Lenovo India and Motorola Mobility partner with Muskaan Dreams to empower government school students with 21st century skills
Initiative targets 20 schools in Lucknow as early adopters, impacting 5000+ students across grades 6-8.
On the International Day of Education, Lenovo, the global technology powerhouse, in collaboration with Motorola Mobility, announced their partnership with Muskaan Dreams for their transformative “Innovators of Tomorrow” program. The initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide and equip students in government schools across Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with critical 21st-century skills such as problem solving and information technology (ICT) literacy, including computer science, coding, and AI-ML.
As part of the program, Internet of Things (IoT) Labs will be set up in participating schools, and the curriculum will be tailored to integrate ICT effectively. Students in grades 6 to 8 will gain foundational computer knowledge and hands-on coding experience, while teachers will receive dedicated hands-on training through AI-enabled chatbot, equipping them to deliver impactful learning experiences. The phased curriculum begins with foundational computer education and basic programming in the first year, progressing to advanced coding and future-ready skills in the second year. This holistic approach aims to foster problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and adaptability—key traits for succeeding in an evolving digital economy.
The “Innovators of Tomorrow” initiative addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals in India’s expanding digital economy. According to MeitY, India’s digital sector is projected to double by 2025, creating 60-65 million jobs, with specialized roles in AI and data science witnessing a significant rise. However, many youths, particularly young women, remain underprepared for these opportunities due to limited resources and exposure.
Abhishek Dubey, Founder of Muskaan Dreams, highlights the significance of Innovators of Tomorrow, a program aimed at equipping students in government schools with 21st-century skills like coding, computer science, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity while providing them with valuable exposure to the tech world. In a rapidly evolving digital era, the initiative strives to bridge the digital divide, empowering underprivileged students with the tools to innovate, adapt, and thrive. By nurturing these essential skills, the program prepares young minds to overcome challenges and seize opportunities in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven future.
Pratima Harite, Head of CSR and Philanthropy at Lenovo Asia Pacific, reinforced the company’s commitment to inclusive education, “At Lenovo, we believe our smarter technology can empower individuals and communities. With India’s digital economy set to create millions of new jobs by 2025, initiatives like ‘Innovators of Tomorrow’ are crucial to equipping the next generation with future-ready skills. By introducing coding, AI, and digital literacy during critical learning years, we aim to inspire young minds towards STEM careers and ensure equitable access to quality education.”
This partnership focuses on bridging the digital divide and promoting inclusion. Early exposure to STEM disciplines helps develop logical thinking, analytical skills, and curiosity, laying the foundation for informed educational and career choices. Furthermore, the program equips teachers with advanced digital pedagogy, fostering a robust and sustained learning environment.
The pilot phase will directly impact over 5,000 students across 20 government schools in Lucknow, with plans to expand to additional regions in the coming years. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2021, the initiative supports the integration of technology and experiential learning into education systems, aiming to spread computer science knowledge and future skills to students and educators across India.
