Catamount Trail Association: Stewards of the Backcountry
The Catamount Trail Association (CTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship of the Catamount Trail—a 300+ mile backcountry ski route that stretches the length of Vermont. Since 1984, the CTA has been developing and maintaining backcountry zones across the state, while also working to permanently protect access to mountain lands. In addition to its trail stewardship, the CTA is leading efforts to expand equitable access to skiing, ensuring that the sport is accessible to all, regardless of income or background.
Building and maintaining this expansive network requires a tremendous amount of effort and commitment from a passionate group of advocates, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly to preserve the Trail for current and future generations of backcountry users.
At SCOTT, we are inspired by the dedication needed to sustain and grow this incredible trail network. We are proud to partner with the CTA in removing barriers to entry, with the shared goal of making backcountry skiing and snow sports more accessible to enthusiasts from all walks of life.
